- 100 Open Source Gems Part 1 - a nice collection of open source programmes (mostly for linux) from TuxRadar.
- The Telegraph reports that Hulu is finally coming to the UK, and possibly bringing the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 with it.
- Wakoopa now has Linux support - As a long time user I’ve been waiting for this for ages. Big thanks to the Wakoopa team!
- 10 TB Optical discs coming in next five years - shame we don’t have them now, I could really use one!
- Oracle releases its microblogging platform - aimed squarely at the enterprise market but with a very odd name, OraTweet. Seriously? (Found via andyc).
- Give Something Back: Online Volunteer Opportunities - Web Worker Daily highlights ways in which you can volunteer online. Apart from the obvious contributions to open source projects there are lots of other interesting ways you can volunteer.
- Wikimedia Foundation to add Creative Commons license for all content - reports Read Write Web.
- How to change the Ubuntu login screen - a nice little how-to from Simple Help.
- Bash scripting basics - ghacks teaches you the basics of bash scripting.
